About the role

In this role you will:

  • Own, define, publish and promote awareness and understanding of the Quilter solution design standards and patterns.
  • Ensuring the high level designs developed fit with the IT strategy and architecture blueprint as defined by the Enterprise Architecture team.
  • Maintain a standardised best practice service across the change delivery areas (change Portfolios and “BAU Changes”). Ensure consistency in approach to all decisions, optimised cost for value, funding models and quality across all portfolios and suppliers.
  • Ensure integration where applicable onto the overall Quilter policies e.g. IT Risk.
  • Develop & maintain an appropriate level of Governance and Assurance in conjunction with these policies across GTS.
  • Drive collaborative approach with suppliers and internal Quilter teams to ensure the desired outcomes for Quilter.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the IT landscape.
  • Mitigate risk of delivery failure working closely with all Change Delivery
  • Programmes and Projects to inform and direct decisions on quality outcomes through effective application of quality management, governance and stakeholder engagement.
  • Scrutinise, control and maximise delivery of value in Solution Architecture across all Changes.
  • To lead and/or contribute to the shaping and development of feasibility studies, 2 concepts and business cases
  • Evaluate and recommend cost saving opportunities
  • Design & Implement new target architecture components
  • Articulate business and IT risks and benefits associated with options for improvements to the IT landscape and Architecture
  • Execute ongoing continuous improvement across all areas of Solution
  • Architecture and design including within all relevant internal and 3rd party relationships across Quilter.
  • Where appropriate undertake Business case reviews. Review risk profiles and business benefit outcomes across GTS Change.
  • Drive continuous adherence to all Solution Architecture related standards within the Quilter delivery process.
  • Ensure key Solution Architecture principles and requirement for SDLC are established and maintained.
  • Approve and agree low level designs across the Change portfolio.
  • Undertake Internal and external capability review including review of Quality of 3rd party partners.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven track record working in IT Solution Architecture.
  • Proven track record within a wide variety of IT functions, including systems analysis, development and project management.
  • Understanding of industry best practice and trends together with their application within a business context.
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of technologies including several of the disciplines in strategic IT architecture covering either application, infrastructure, data or security architecture with evidenced practice of at least two domains.
  • Broad knowledge of the financial services industry and key regulatory requirements together with an understanding of business processes.
  • Experience working with large contract outsourcing supplier partners.
  • Experience in developing vision and informing strategic direction on large initiatives.
  • Proven experience in designing, standardizing and maintaining assurance practices within a multi-disciplined environment.
  • Experience in assessing and challenging demand, root cause and cost and benefit analysis
  • Graduate level or equivalent desirable
  • ITIL Practitioner
  • Agile Practitioner
  • TOGAF certification
